Respite Services

Our respite provision provides home from home support for people with learning disabilities.
We have two respite bedrooms, one at Healey House in Whitworth, Rochdale and one at Woodleigh House in Waterfoot, Rossendale

We provide support to people who normally live at home and who receive an allocated number of nights for respite provision to offer the family a break from their role as main carer. Our aim is to provide the person with a pleasant and enjoyable experience whilst they are with us on respite. The service may be able to support people through emergency admission for a longer period of time in exceptional circumstances.

The team’s approach is person centred and we work closely with individuals, their families, health professionals and any other relevant services. We will listen to service users and their families or representatives to ensure their views direct the way we support people on respite with us.

Our support staff are committed to supporting people to maintain their normal activities while taking a break from home as well as providing a stimulation and safe environment. Activities on offer can include anything from arts and crafts to swimming, day trips and exercise and walks. We will encourage guests to get involved with the general day to day activities and chores to develop their skills in these areas.
